  • The United States and China continue to be the major export markets of Vietnam

    According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (Agriculture and Rural Development), in January 2021, the United States and China continued to be major markets for Vietnam's agricultural, forestry and fishery exports. In which, the United States accounted for the largest market share with an export turnover of about 935 million USD, up 42.2% over the same period (accounting for about 26.8% of market share).
    Next is China with about 888 million USD, up 38.6% over the same period and accounting for 25.4% market share.
     
    The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development also said that in January 2021, exports to ASEAN countries increased by 25.2% and EU increased by 7.6%. Both of these two markets reached about 312 million USD and each had 8.9% market share.
     
    Export to Japan reached 288 million USD, up 25.6% and accounting for nearly 8.3% market share; The Korean market reached a turnover of about US $ 164 million, up 20.9% and accounting for 5.7% of the market share.
     
    The data above shows that the picture of export in the past 1.5 months has many bright spots. Agriculture, forestry and fisheries are still the key products with high export turnover value.
    Only in 1.2021, the total import-export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products was estimated at nearly US $ 6.45 billion, of which exports were estimated at US $ 3.49 billion, up 27.1% over the same period in 2019; import is estimated at about 2.97 billion USD, up 47.2%; trade surplus is about 523 million USD.
     
    In terms of exports, January 2021 was estimated at US $ 3.49 billion, up 27.1% over January 2020. In which, the main agricultural product group was estimated at nearly 1.62 billion USD, up 28.9%; husbandry was estimated at 26 million USD, up 3.0%; aquatic products were estimated at about 600 million USD, up 19.6%; main forest products reached over 1.33 million USD, up 47.8%.
     
    Many items achieved higher export value over the same period, such as: Caosu, tea, cashew nuts, pepper, shrimp, pangasius, forest products.
     
    In which, Caosu export increased 41.9%; tea increased by 30.5%; cashew nuts increased 51.8%; pepper up 41.7%; shrimp increased by 30.8%; Pangasius increased by 25.8%; cinnamon increased 42.2%; wood and wood products by 48.4%; rattan, bamboo, carpet rose 36.7% ...
     
    However, exports of some products decreased, including: Coffee, vegetables and rice. In which, coffee decreased by 12.7%, rice decreased by 20.2%, vegetables and fruits decreased by 7.6%.
    In the opposite direction, the import turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in 1.2021 is estimated at $ 2.97 billion, up 47.2% over the same period in 2020. In which, the import value of the main agricultural, forestry and fishery products were estimated at 2.63 billion USD, up 62.9%.
